Hello,
I know there had been a similar question asked by Daniel a couple of
months back, but since then, some other patches landed..so I wanted to
ask again - does c-ares upstream plan a new release to facilitate the
changes since 1.6.0?
We currently rely on a number of patches in our project[1] that went in
since 1.6.0. The problem is that carrying patches in our tree means a
lot of additional work, since we have to constantly watch out for
upstream changes to be in sync. Patching c-ares in Fedora/RHEL where we
develop means we get out of sync with the rest of the distros..
I know that releasing a new version means extra work, extra testing etc.
and I'm certainly willing to help any way I can.
Thank you for consideration,
Jakub
